The Soggy Dollar and the Original Painkiller

Accessible only by boat and located on beautiful White Bay on Jost van Dyke, the Soggy Dollar Bar is a regular fixture for sailors, yachties and visitors alike. Regarded as the birthplace of the BVI's signature cocktail, the Painkiller in the 1970's, this smooth, full-flavored rum cocktail has become the essence of Caribbean imbibing.

The correct concoction of premium dark rum, cream of coconut, pineapple and orange juice, topped with fresh grated Grenadian nutmeg makes the swim (no dock, thus the name) to the Soggy Dollar Bar worth the effort.

Perhaps it's the setting of White Bay, the thirst from the swim, the perfect blend of fruit & rum… whatever the reason, the Soggy Dollar Bar is arguably one of the most popular and quintessential Caribbean hangouts.

Foxy's: Serving Food & Strong Rum Drinks Since 1968

In 1968, a young Philicianno "Foxy" Callwood saw the future on sailing yachts that came to call on the idyllic 4 square mile of Jost Van Dyke. In the shade of a Tamarind Tree, Foxy set up a bar for the specific purpose of welcoming sailors to his island home. Foxy's Tamarind Bar is often recognised as the birthplace of the BVI's Yachting tourism industry. Quick with a song, joke or story, Foxy has been welcoming visitors to 'his island' for 5 decades.

These days, one can't visit the islands without a stop at this always popular bar and restuarant. The reviews speak for themselves:

"Definitely the best place in the BVI's - we had a blast! Nice music, nice cocktails and shots!"

"Great atmosphere! Great Service! Great food! Nice gift shop and good music."
